Advantages of IPL™ Photorejuvenation Treatment

While no one is immune to the aging process, there are definitely things we can do to slow down the process. This is especially true when considering environmental factors such as UV sun exposure. As most of us age, “photo damaged” skin can look blemished and can have mottled pigmentation, brown spots, and telangiectasias (spider veins). These skin irregularities spoil our complexion and make us look older than our actual age. Photorejuvenation using Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) is an extremely popular and highly safe and effective advanced skin care treatment to improve the tone, color, and texture of photodamaged and aging skin.
Restore the Skin’s Youthful Appearance
The IPL™ Photorejuvenation treatment uses advanced technology to restore your skin’s youthful appearance by reducing the appearance of various skin conditions including freckles, brown spots (sun spots) and hyperpigmentation, facial spider veins, rosacea, birthmarks, broken capillaries, red spots, and more. The Lumenis One (IPL™) system is the pioneer and gold standard platform for performing Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) Photorejuvenation.
With IPL Photorejuvenation, virtually any body area can be treated: face, hands and arms, chest, legs, and other areas, with no patient downtime. Intense Pulsed Light delivers a broad spectrum of therapeutic light in a series of gentle pulses of light. The delivered light is transformed into heat energy which is absorbed superficially by broken capillaries and by the dark pigmented spots. Dilated capillaries coagulate, and pigmented lesions darken and then slough off, ridding the skin of excess pigment and unwanted skin imperfections.
During the procedure, patients may experience some mild to moderate discomfort, which feels like a rubber band snap, but this does not last long. A slight burning sensation can occur and may last for up to one hour after treatment. Any temporary mild pinkness can be covered with makeup.
The procedure itself takes 30 to 40 minutes to perform. For improved results, more than one treatment is often necessary, separated by three to five week intervals. Depending on the degree of complexity and the number of conditions you are treating, a series of four to six treatments may be recommended.
Benefits of IPL™ Photorejuvenation
* Quick, simple and safe procedure
* Amazing results with no downtime
* Minimal discomfort and no anesthesia required
* Enhances appearance and boosts self-confidence

Most fade creams that I know of target only the hyper (or darker) pigmented part of the skin. So if you were to rub it all over your face or arm or wherever, it would only lighten the darker spots. You can pick up a fade cream at the drug store or do an on line search on drugstore. com. Don’t expect immediate results, it generally takes several weeks if not months to start seeing changes. And make sure to use a sunblock when using these creams. They can make you more sensitive to the sun (lame since it is the sun that causes the darkening!).
Also, they generally only work on sun caused freckles, some you may have been born with and unfortunately, you are stuck with those
